The Keystone of our Religion - September 18, 2017 - Rancho Cucamonga

Sister Allred and Sister Clinger - September 2017

Hi, my sweet Mommy Mom! :)

WOW!! A lot happened last week! I bet you are exhausted. One of the things that never ceases to amaze me is that you would never guess how tired you are and how many health problems you have by seeing the kind of work ethic you have. I'm always so proud of you. You inspire me every time I think of you when the work gets tough. I always think to myself, "I hope I'm as good of a missionary as Mom when she served." I love thinking about what kind of missionary you were. I can't imagine where we would be if you hadn't served a faithful mission. Mommy Mom....YOU ARE AMAZING!!!

I feel bad I can't remember that sweet lady that I love who is in the choir and she has red hair and takes really amazing pictures...but she gave me some oils before I came out and they are nearly gone. If you could send me some essential oils that would be incredible.

Alrighty, last week was great! Not just because we found 2 new investigators but they are both SO serious about investigating the church! I will keep you updated on them :)

As for our other investigators, it has been so hard to meet with them. But we have a couple of appointments set up this week with them. Many prayers go out to them as they investigate the church!

Sister Clinger and I are having so much fun out here serving. We laugh ALL the time and we work really hard and we strengthen each other. How have I been so blessed with companions??

Yesterday we were having a deep discussion about the importance of using the Book of Mormon in conversion. Okay so you know how we hear over and over again that the Book of Mormon is the keystone of our religion?? Which hopefully we are all confident that statement is true. But if it is the KEYSTONE of our religion why don't we act like it all the time?! Preach My Gospel has emphasized that we use the Book of Mormon as our MAIN source of teaching. So, Sister Clinger came up with this amazing idea for us to start teaching the missionary discussions from the Book of Mormon and working our way out to the pamphlets instead of teaching all from the pamphlet and then a small amount from the Book of Mormon. AH!!! We are stoked to see what that will do for those whom we teach. I have seen what the power of the Book of Mormon brings forth to those with hardened hearts and oh my goodness it's miraculous!!!

I finished reading Jacob and am now in Enos. My oh my do I admire Jacob!!!! I love when Sherem just tries so hard to destroy Jacobs testimony and Jacob then goes to say that he is "unshakeable"! Ohhhhhh my goodness!!!!!! His faith cannot be shaken. We can all learn from him and how his foundation is solidly placed on Christ and His gospel. Wow. Jacob's so good.

Okay so pretty much my whole life I thought the scriptures were so boring because I just could not understand them. I was so blind but now I see! When anyone talks about the scriptures I just feel like I need to hold my scriptures close to me and tell everyone how much I love them! Haha I'm obsessed😂Applying the principals we find in the scriptures to our missionary efforts is my favorite thing ever. We see that the knowledge we gain from our studies is used for so much good as we help others learn about the Gospel and come unto Christ.

I'm going to have to leave that right there or else this email is going to be 5 pages long that will be all about the scriptures haha.

OH! Elder Gaverret of the Seventy is visiting the mission tomorrow. We can't wait!!! I will take lots of notes and share my favorite things with you :)

Keep trying. Keep trusting. Keep believing. Keep growing. Heaven will be cheering you on today, tomorrow, and forever.

I love you to the moon and back my beautiful Mommy Mom. I am so incredibly blessed to have you. Have a wonderful week!

Sister Allred

From Mom:

Yesterday in my personal study, I was studying about Jesus Christ - Only Begotten Son. And the scripture in Moses 4:2 hit me like a ton of bricks, "But, behold, my Beloved Son, which was my Beloved and Chosen from the beginning, said unto me—Father, thy will be done, and the glory be thine forever."

I have thought a lot about submitting ourselves to the will of our Heavenly Father. In fact, I think about it a lot! It carries me through so many difficulties and challenges. But, as I pondered about the Savior, and how He literally followed the will of our Father, right from the beginning. That was so powerful to me. And then I realized that is truly an answer for so many things, for us to follow Heavenly Father's will, even when we don't want to. But if we have the faith, and obedience, and move forward, our testimony will increase, and we will have heaven's strength and heaven's help in all that we do. In fact we always have heaven's help. We just need to learn to recognize it.

Anyway, it was amazing. The talks in Sacrament Meeting were wonderful. A young couple that are new in the ward spoke, Brother and Sister Richan. Sister Richan said, "If you pick up a stick, you also pick up the other end." She was speaking about agency, and when we make a choice, we are also choosing the consequence that comes along with our choice. Brother Richan said, "Are we in the game, or are we on the sidelines." That made me think also, how committed am I. Am I letting life pass me by, or am I in this all the way?

Well, I hope things are going well. We all love you, and pray for you constantly. People ask me about you all the time, how you are doing. Choir members are always so caring. They all love you so much.

Be strong and of a good courage my beautiful daughter! May the angels be round about you to bear you up!

I love you to the moon and back!
