Last week was AWESOME - December 18, 2017 - Rancho Cucamonga, CA

Sister McCoombs and Sister Allred at the Living Nativity
"Christmas Card" 2017

My dearest and most beautiful Mommy Mom,

Thank you for everything! Remember that I know that you are always doing your best. My whole life you have never ceased to do so. I honestly could have no gifts this Christmas and still have the best Christmas ever. I get to do what Christmas is all about full-time! There really is nothing better. Please don't worry about me :) I'm doing just fine! But I am grateful for what you are doing for me :) Very grateful!

Me and Sister McCombs get along so well! I love her soooooo much and she has THEE biggest heart! She loves so easily and it is for sure one of her gifts. We also have the same humor. We are always laughing!

Last week was AWESOME!!! Monday, our plans and back up plans fell through. We had the feeling to try to visit some potential investigators that Sister Weir and I found. Their names are Jennifer and Eva and they are sisters. We knocked on their door and they insisted that we come in! We taught them the Restoration and they absorbed it like a sponge. Jennifer very willingly said the closing prayer.

Such a tender mercy for us to experience. It was the smoothest lesson that I was a part of on my mission. We have a return appointment with them and couldn't be more excited. The whole month of December, Sister McCombs and I have been saying that all we want for Christmas is some investigators and then we find them. Yay!

Yesterday we experienced a little miracle. Last night, Sister McCombs and I weren't feeling too well. We almost went home to rest but we decided to go out and contact anyway. We were able to see the Lord bless us. We contacted 28 people last night!

The Lord didn't take our sickness away but He helped us fulfill our calling even more so by giving us the strength to do so. It reminded me when Alma and His people were persecuted by Amulon and the burdens they had to bear were terrible but because they turned to the Lord their burdens were made light. Sister McCombs and I both experienced that!

"Light the World" is going great!! I love seeing people light up when we talk about the initiative. It is so wonderful. The church truly is inspired!

Merry Christmas! Remember Christ is the reason for the season. Let us always honor Him by serving our fellow men and spreading joy and love always just as He did.

Keep an eye single to the glory of God! Keep trying. Keep trusting. Keep believing. Keep growing. Heaven will be cheering you on today, tomorrow, and forever

I love you to the moon and back my wonderful Mommy Mom! Remember you are enough and you are Heavenly Father's precious daughter and my precious mother. I love love love love love you and I can't wait to Skype with my family!

Love,
Sister Allred

P.S. Skyping details are still up in the air. It's kinda crazy. Elder Boulter will keep you informed. Don't worry! Love you!

Vickie and Elder Olsen

Vickie posted the picture with Elder Olsen on the family page on Facebook. I guess Elder Olsen was in her ward today. He is trying to get a job at Google (which is near Santa Clara, Ca). Interesting... it really is a small world!

From Mom:

I love the end of the first verse of "O Little Town of Bethlehem":

Yet in thy dark streets shineth
The everlasting Light.
The hopes and fears of all the years
Are met in thee tonight.

How was your "light the world" this week? I feel like our concerts really fulfilled the "light world' all this week. People receive such joy from music. It really is amazing how beautiful, sacred music touches the heart and soul. And all good music comes from God. The fun, light hearted, folk songs also bring lots of joy.

Remember that we love you soooooooooo much, my beautiful sweetie girl! You are amazing. You light up a room with your very presence. The spirit truly radiates beauty and warmth from within. People tell me all the time that they love the pictures I post of you on Facebook. They comment about how happy you look, and how beautiful you are. I see it in your eyes, the spirit, the love, and the faith. Always remember that.

Be strong and of a good courage, my daughter! May the angels be round about you to bear you up!

I love you to the moon and back!

Love,
Mommy Mom
