|Sister Clinger and Sister Allred - cupcakes were from Elder and Sister Boulter for Rebecca's Birthday!|
My dearest Mommy Mom,
I'm so glad you were able to go to their baptism!! I love those girls so much. I'm sure you told them that!
I had a wonderful birthday! Literally nothing gets better than serving the Lord on your special day of birth. Elder and Sister Boulter did spoil me and took us out for breakfast and they made me cupcakes. They are in our ward. I don't know if you knew that. They are my mission grandparents!
I'm sorry if this email is way short, it's been a hard day and I also a hard week. But what good are the blessings in life if we are unable to recognize the bad?? I'm thankful for trials because they open my eyes to the numerous blessings that are all around us.
I would like to talk about the wonderful studies I had the last couple of days! I read in Mosiah chapters 17. I love Abinadi's story. His faith was extremely solid. He was UNSHAKABLE!!! He reminds me of the Apostle Paul when he says, "I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith:" (2 Timothy 4:7) I hope my faith is like his someday!!!! I love the amazing examples of the many true and faithful servants of the Lord that we find in the scriptures. It's no wonder we are asked to search, ponder, and pray about the scriptures. They are so inspiring!!!!! Elder Bednar gives us a huge promise that if we read the scriptures everyday, we will never fall away! (1 Nephi 15:24)
The Church is true no matter where you go, no matter what you do and no matter what happens. I'm grateful to have the gospel.
Thank you mom for everything. I love you more than you will ever know! I can't thank you enough for staying true to the faith and raising us in the gospel.
Keep trying. Keep trusting. Keep believing. Keep growing. Heaven will be cheering you on today, tomorrow, and forever.
I love you to the moon and back!
Your sweetie girl, Sister Allred
You will have your 9-month mark on Wednesday, October 11th!!!!!!! I can't believe it. You are halfway! Do they still call it "hump day"? And your birthday is on Friday, October 13th. I sent you various packages. One of the packages was sent from here. And then I ordered several things. So, hopefully they have arrived. Keep me posted. We all love you so much, and want you to have a glorious day teaching the gospel! I can't think of a better way to celebrate your birthday then in being a wonderful, diligent, faithful, and spectacular sister missionary! And you are all of those! I am so proud of you!
I know things are not always easy. But you have grit! You have the will and the faith to move mountains. And you can jump over the hurdles that you face. And you can be faithful in every situation. I pray for you constantly.
Grandma and Preston flew from Las Vegas to San Jose, and then went to Santa Clara for Olivia's baptism. I haven't heard much about it yet, but will attach more photos of that. Preston helped Grandma a lot! And then coming back (they left Vegas about 7:45), there was a huge accident around exit 93 (Glendale/Moapa), and they had about a 3 -hour delay. They will probably arrive home to st. George after 1:00 a.m. I imagine Preston will not have time to email you.
Anyway, Happy Birthday my beautiful missionary daughter! I am so proud of you. Let me know how things are going. How is Sister Clinger? I want to hear about your investigators, and how the Lord's work is going in Rancho Cucamonga!
Be strong and of a good courage! May the angels be round about you to bear you up!
I love you to the moon and back!
