Love, support and prayers - March 20, 2017 - Apple Valley

My dearest mommy mom!

I would love to hear more about you! I miss you so much and want to hear the good things about your week! Also I know that you are all busy! I just feel like I need to hear from my family more. I can't express how much it simply makes my day when I know what is going on with everyone because I love my family!

So, this week was much better! The Lord has been giving me many tender mercies each day to help me get through this week! To be honest, I really REALLY didn’t want to tell many people about dad's passing. I felt that I needed to keep quiet about it to respect him. I told the people I felt needed to know but still the word quickly got out. People from our ward came and brought us ice cream, cookies, and a whole lot of hugs! The bishop found out the quickest. He immediately called me and told me everything I needed to hear (did I mention he is 29? He is an INCREDIBLE bishop!) He even sent his cute wife over. She came and talked to us for a while and really cheered me up. I know I keep mentioning how amazing our ward is but they continue to amaze me!

Guess what!! We finally have some solid investigators! Their names are J and R. We met them about a month ago and visited them a few times but we are now starting to teach them! We taught them the restoration and surprising enough they didn’t reject anything! R is a non-practicing catholic and J is atheist. They are going to be tough ones to crack but as long as we teach with the spirit we can bring them unto Christ! Also they are the SWEETEST people ever! Oh and they actually came to the girl’s camp fundraiser dinner and they loved it! We will be sure to try to get a picture with them sometime so that you can see them. She totally looks like she could be young women’s or relief society president!

Bad news/good news. Bad news is our ward mates (Elder Dickson and Elder Petrie) got transferred and they are not being replaced. It is just me and Sister Tate covering our ward now! We are so sad!! We worked all together in unity and we helped each other a ton with less actives and investigators. Now that they're gone we are trying to fill in a very big gap! But the good news is that because they are not being replaced we now are teaching all of their investigators! So this is a huge blessing for us because we have been not been too successful with teaching opportunities besides J and R. We are very busy now!

I am feeling much better! I love being a missionary because I love seeing growth in myself but more importantly in the people we teach! Investigators, less-actives and even members, we all continue to grow each day!

Thank you for all of your love, support, and many prayers! I continue to see the blessings and miracles that come with faithful prayers! I can't express the love I have for my Heavenly Father, my Savior, for the gift of the Holy Ghost, the Atonement, the restored Gospel, President Monson, the scriptures, and for my family. The list can go on and on. The church is true and the book is blue!

I hope you have an amazing week mom! I LOVE YOU DEARLY!

Love, Sister Allred
